ABOUT UNCHAINED

UNCHAINED is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking through awareness, prevention, and restoration of victims. UNCHAINED seeks to empower audiences with knowledge of human trafficking, signs to look for, and ways to report and combat the crime.


WHAT WE DO

UNCHAINED the Film

UNCHAINED the Film is a short fashion film that tells the story of a survivor of human trafficking through three stages: innocence, violation, and restoration. It is the screen adaptation of the live UNCHAINED Fashion Show. The film seeks to create awareness and educate audiences on human trafficking, creating a unique and safe way to discuss this horrible topic.

The UNCHAINED Fashion Show empowers high schools, universities, community organizations, and churches to hold a fashion show that tells the story of a human trafficking survivor through fashion. The show seeks to create awareness and educate audiences on human trafficking, creating a unique and safe way to discuss this horrible topic.

UNCHAINED fashion shows performed and film showings nationwide at middle schools, high schools, universities, conferences, corporations, organizations, and churches raising awareness about trafficking in the US.

UNCHAINED events are multimedia-rich. The film and fashion show engage audiences better than a one-dimensional presentation about human trafficking. Both the film and fashion show include facts and statistics about human trafficking, spoken word narration, and music. The artistry and fashion portray a survivor of human trafficking and allow the audience to engage with the topic of human trafficking in a new way.

STEPHANIE CATANI
CO-FOUNDER

Global Women's Health and Activism at the Ohio State University and her experience at The University of Arts London at the London College of Fashion. UNCHAINED merges her two passions - to set women free by using fashion & telling stories of hope.


FELICIA KALAN
CO-FOUNDER

Political Science and International Relations led her to the Ohio House of Representatives, where she served as a Legislative Aide for the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. During that time Ohio passed its first human trafficking legislation - House Bill 262. She also spent time in Calcutta, India with Free-Set - an organization that employs trafficking survivors.
